Description
Bruce Family History Flash Drive version. Family of Bruce Video was produced in 1974 by our Chief, the Earl of Elgin and Kincardine to mark the 700th anniversary of the birth of King Robert I. It is narrated by the late distinguished historian Ian Grimble, and was filmed in Scotland. The initial part was filmed at the seat of our Chief, Broomhall House, with other sections showing other sites. The narration covers one thousand years of the history of the Family of Bruce, and includes sections on, among others, the famous explorer James Bruce of Kinnaird, and on the father of the current Earl. The final segment was filmed at the dedication of the monument at the site of the battle of Bannockburn, and features a rendition of the song “Scots Wha’ Hae” by the Earl of Elgin himself.
This is a very fine exposition of the history of our Family, and should be in the collection of every Bruce.
